A man-made lake at the foot of the Shivalik hills, created in 1958 by damming the Sukhna Choe stream. The long promenade along the dam is the city's favourite place for a morning walk, an evening stroll or a cup of tea, and boating is available on the water.
Local tip: Mornings are calmest; weekend evenings are busy. In winter you will see migratory birds on the water. The Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary lies in the hills behind the lake.
