Which sector should I live in?

Tell us what matters to you and we will rank Chandigarh’s residential sectors, with the numbers behind each one. Counts come from our directory of schools, hospitals, clinics, parks, markets and cafés, and distances are straight-line from the middle of each sector.

How the ranking works

  • Each factor is scored from 0 to 1 across all residential sectors: more schools, clinics, parks or shops nearby score higher; shorter distances score higher.
  • "Very important" counts twice as much as "Nice to have". The sector with the highest total comes first.
  • Sectors 1, 12, 14, 17 and the industrial areas are left out because they are mostly government, campus or commercial land.
  • We do not have reliable rent or noise data for every sector, so check those yourself: visit at different times of day, and compare listings on property sites.
